Your day would include a variety of tasks in an open floor plan environment with a handful of close-knit co-workers, while serving an interesting variety of small to mid-size businesses, municipalities and colleges. Travel to client sites is not required and there are multiple bus routes and stops in the area, as well as free off-street parking.
The ideal candidate must be:
- Extremely organized;
- Detail oriented and able to manage deadlines;
- An excellent communicator;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Gmail;
- Earth-friendly oriented;
- Creative;
- Wanting to learn and take on new responsibilities.
The ideal candidate must be able to:
- Prioritize time and work independently;
- Multitask and keep good notes;
- Learn new software;
- Type at a reasonable data entry speed.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Formatting reports, correspondence and other documents in Word and Excel;
- Scheduling and confirming appointments and training;
- Entering data, primarily for environmental permits;
- Coordinating with vendors, such as setting up outside trainers for clients, confirming that training, checking pricing with suppliers, etc.;
- Scanning, transcription, and mailings;
- Assisting to keep office organized and functioning;
- Dealing with emails to and from clients, and in-house
- Other tasks as assigned.
Essential qualifications for this position include:
- Proficient in Word and Excel (able to proofread and do formatting of documents).
- Able to follow up and manage own time. Someone who can track multiple projects and follow up when items are not completed.
- Ability and desire to communicate on the phone (no selling, but finding out information for clients, scheduling training and meetings, coordinating).
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Takes pride in the work.
We believe in and support sustainable work practices, such as reduce-reuse-recycle, and are looking for someone who will fit in with the team.
Full-time, but may consider starting part-time (minimum 28 hours a week). Flexible daytime hours (generally sometime between 8:00-5:00). Pay $18-$ per hour to start, DOQ, and generous benefits.
