IMGP1013_Janet-KeyesJanet is our industrial hygienist and technical geek. She is also our primary trainer. If you have a question about some obscure chemical, a strange OSHA standard or some novel safety and health issue, she would love to research it for you. She does a lot of the program development. Janet and Mark also keep CHESS staff supplied with duck eggs from their farm.

Elisabeth Parrish – Administrative Assistant


Betsy Elisabeth "Betsy" Parrish keeps the office organized, edits and formats documents, assists with financial operations and contract renewals, updates the web site, and creates and monitors quality control standards for the written programs we prepare for our clients. When not thus centred in the sphere of common duties at work, Betsy putters with her native prairie garden, teaches ESL, researches family history, reads, and goes a-roving by the light of the moon.

YaVoneYaVone is the second newest addition to the team. She is the main contact for setting up training. Along with Betsy, she helps keep the office organized and keeps client training and projects on track. YaVone likes camping, science fiction romance, and going on mini-vacations with her son.

Sherry J. Wings – First Aid and Fire Safety Instructor


Sherry-WingsSherry is our emergencies person. Her background in the fire service gives her hands on knowledge of fire safety...and good hands-on stories for her fire safety training. Her emergency medicine experience makes her first aid classes always interesting.

        chemical plants, paper manufacturing plants, bulk oil storage facilities, high piled storage warehouses,
        general storage warehouses and flammable liquid packaging and storage warehouses
    ○  Developed and implemented the hazard identification system used on St. Paul buildings to identify hazards
        for incoming fire crews
  • Experience with structural steel design and detailing, sprinkler design, sprinkler plan review, and evacuation route planning
  • Developed and delivered employee fire safety and fire extinguisher training, and provided fire safety education for students and adults in industrial and medical facility settings
